DOUBLE BASS (CLASSIC/POP/JAZZ)

DOUBLE BASS LESSONS IN MAASTRICHT

Double bass classical
The impressive double bass makes a remarkably low sound, the lowest of all string instruments. The double bass is so large that you can play this instrument sitting or even standing, both with the bow and with your fingers. As a double bassist you play in a string quintet, mixed ensemble or symphony orchestra.

The sound of the double bass fits into many styles of music. During these classes you will focus on salon music, classical music and folk music from all over the world. The instruments themselves are already present at Kuma, you only need to bring your bow.

Double bass pop/jazz
The double bass has made a comeback in jazz and rock music. The warm undertones of the double bass give atmosphere to every song. If you study for half an hour every day, you can also learn to play the double bass fairly quickly.

During individual lessons you learn to play the double bass with music from jazz and rock and the sounds of impressive big bands. From practice you learn to read, string and pick notes. You learn the technique playfully in class and at home when you practice. You do not have to bring your own instrument to class, but it is important that you do not forget your bow. If you are considering purchasing a double bass, you can ask your teacher for advice.
