TRUMPET (POP/JAZZ)
TRUMPET LESSONS IN MAASTRICHT
As a trumpet player you are the point of contact between the wind section and the rhythm section in all types of bands, from jazz to rock. How is that possible with only three buttons? You make all tones with the tension of your lips (embouchure) and your blowing technique. The lesson also starts with that: basic techniques such as valve grips, posture and breathing. You can also learn to read scales and sheet music. Feel free to bring your favorite song to play. Advanced trumpet players learn to sound all possible sounds from their instrument. You learn to solo and improvise, read chords and play music lines by ear.

Marc Huynen
Trumpeter Marc Huynen studied at the conservatories of Maastricht and Hilversum with Rob Bruynen, Jan Oosthof and Ruud Breuls. He attended workshops with Jerry and Ack van Rooyen, Peter Herbolzheimer, Rob Pronk, Vince Mendoza, John Clayton, Andy Haderer, Bobby Shew and Jiggs Whigham, among others.
Huynen has played in the orchestras: The Glenn Miller Orchestra, No limit, Jazzorchestra National Du Luxembourg, Il novo cente (night of the proms), New Cool Collective big band, the WDR big band and L’Equipe d’reve. He accompanied jazz musicians such as Toots Thielemans, Ack van Rooyen, Rick Kiefer, Chuck and Bob Findley as well as pop groups such as Belle Perez and Rowen Heze. In a small line-up he can regularly be heard with his jazz quartet or with the jazz tronauts (groovy jazz).
